Measure calls for a comprehensive review of California’s energy plan
SACRAMENTO – Greater coordination and forethought are the goals of Assembly Bill 284, a measure introduced this session by Asm. Bill Quirk (D-Hayward), his first as a newly-elected legislator.
If signed into law, the Quirk bill would require state energy and environmental agencies to collaborate to ensure the greenhouse gas reduction goals laid out in AB 32 are met. Additionally, this bill would enhance California’s ability to evaluate its progress and determine the most cost-effective and reliable approaches towards a maximum effectiveness of each program.
