SACRAMENTO, CA – Following the announcement of the 2023-24 Assembly Standing Committee assignments, Assemblymember Liz Ortega (D-Hayward) released the following statement:
“I am grateful and excited to have been appointed to the Assembly Rules Committee, as well as the Committees on Higher Education, Insurance, Labor, and Public Safety,” said Assemblymember Liz Ortega.
“These committees oversee important functions of our state government that are crucial for supporting working families and working toward equity in our communities. I look forward to working on important policies and bettering the lives of all Californians while serving on these committees.”
Assemblymember Liz Ortega represents the 20th Assembly District, encompassing all or a portion of the cities of Hayward, San Leandro, Union City, Dublin, Pleasanton and the unincorporated areas of Ashland, Cherryland, Fairview, San Lorenzo, and Castro Valley. She is a member of the Assembly Committees on Higher Education, Insurance, Labor, Public Safety and Rules.
