Assemblymember Quirk Looks to Build Bridges Between Communities and Law Enforcement

(Sacramento) – With the recent instances of law enforcement’s alleged use of excessive force in California and across the nation, California State Assemblymember Bill Quirk (D-Hayward) wanted to take a closer look at the issue.  As Chair  of the Assembly Public Safety Committee, Assemblymember Quirk joined with the Senate to hold an informational hearing entitled, “Law Enforcement and Community Trust in California.”  The hearing brought together community leaders, law enforcement, educators, criminologists and elected officials to take a look at the problem, and to explore ways to build trust and find solutions.  Watch this Assembly Access Video to hear Assemblymember Quirk’s comments as he wrapped up the very informative hearing.
