For immediate release:

HAYWARD – California State Assemblymember Bill Quirk is pleased to announce his 2022 Annual Women of the Year. Every March, the State Assembly honors women from across the state for their remarkable contributions to the community in celebration of Women’s History Month. These women were selected because of their significant contributions and accomplishments to the 20th Assembly District which includes the cities of Hayward, Union City, the northern portion of Fremont and the unincorporated communities of Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, Hayward Acres, San Lorenzo and Sunol.

This year’s honorees are Laurel Quirk 2022 Woman of the Year; Public Servant Honoree Mayor Barbara Halliday; Education Honoree Elisa Correia-Dasalla; Social Justice Honoree Monique Berlanga; and Health Honoree Andrea Schwab-Galindo. “While these amazing women have all worked and served our community tirelessly for many, many years, I am particularly honored to recognize them as unique women who have all performed extraordinarily during these extraordinary times” said Bill Quirk.

The women will be honored at a small recognition ceremony at a future date.
