Landmark Climate Change Legislation Approved

Wednesday, July 19, 2017

(Sacramento) – When the State Assembly debated the package of landmark climate change legislation, Assemblymember Bill Quirk (D-Hayward) stood in strong support of Assembly Bill 398, the companion measure to Assembly Bill 617. The two bills balance our economic, health and environmental concerns as California works to reach its 2030 climate targets and improve the lives of all residents. “We have a choice,” Assemblymember Quirk said. The choice is let the Air Board decide to tell this industry to go down by 5%, that one by 10% or that one by 40% or you can have a market. The Chamber of Commerce and virtually every industry in the state wants to have a market. I agree.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
