At Capitol Celebration, Assemblymember Quirk Recognizes Fremont Flowers & Gifts as his 2017 Small Business Honoree

SACRAMENTO – Dirk and Lisa Lorenz, owners of Fremont Flower and Gifts joined Assemblymember Bill Quirk (D-Hayward) at the 2017 Small Business Celebration in Sacramento.

“I am pleased to honor Dirk, Lisa and Fremont Flower and Gifts. Dirk and Lisa have worked to create a better business environment and community through their advocacy and volunteerism. They are both proud Rotarians. In addition to running his business, Dirk is Chairman of the Fremont Festival of the Arts.  Dirk and Lisa’s devotion to their business and their community makes them perfect candidate for this recognition,” said Assemblymember Quirk.


After the celebration this morning, Dirk stated "small business owners are the true heroes in our communities. They represent the heart and soul of the cities where they do business.  I am honored to have Fremont Flowers and Gifts selected as ‘Small Business of the Year’ by Assemblymember Quirk and honored to be included with the California businesses being honored today!"


Every year, the California Small Business Association organizes an event to allow members to honor a small business in their district. Today’s event follows an event Assemblymember Quirk held in his district to honor small business in his district.



Elected in 2012, Bill Quirk brings his PhD in astrophysics and career as an educator and scientist to the State Assembly.  He is the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials. He is also Chair of the Select Committee on California’s Clean Energy Economy. He is a member of the Agriculture, Public Safety, Revenue and Taxation, and Utilities and Energy Committees.
