October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and as we continue to shelter in place, it is important we provide much needed support to those whose homes are not the safe place they should be. Come learn about self-defense techniques from a certified self-defense instructor, get resources if you or someone you know has been a victim of domestic violence, and hear about the work being done in Sacramento to prevent domestic violence.
The Zoominar is Friday, October 9th, 2020
2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Participating experts are:
Christine Smith, California Partnership to End Domestic Violence
Shailaja Dixit, Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments
Self-Defense Session by:
Sandra Gylfe, Damsel in Defense Pro
You may send email questions in advance that we will do our best to answer during the Zoominar. Because of the volume of RSVPs we are expecting, live questions will not be possible. Please email your questions to Karishma.Khatri@asm.ca.gov by noon, Thursday, October 8th using the subject heading, Zoominar Question. Whatever questions we are unable to answer in the one-hour time period will be responded to by my office.
